Gigabyte Radeon X800 Pro Review
Written by Phyro

In this review, HardwareZoom is going to let use see how fast the Gigabyte Radeon X800 Pro really is. Before the X800, Radeon 9800 was top of the end series in the Radeon lineup, naturally the next generation should be named as Radeon 10800. For convenience sake, someone in ATI decided to replaced "10" by the Roman numeral "X" instead, so we call it Radeon X800 - sounds cooler isn't it?

Gigabyte GV-R80P256V/D, powered by ATI latest's Radeon X800 (R420) Pro GPU, offer the next highest level of gaming experience. Being top of the range series from ATI, how do they fair compare to nVidia's GeForce6800 Ultra?

Being the reference design from ATI, there is very little to comment about this card. What the buyers should be looking at is really on the software bundling and the price. In this sense, Gigabyte is doing a good job in supplying a nice bundle of software and games.

From the test results, we can see that the performance of X800 Pro is very close to 6800 Ultra, in some cases the X800 Pro actually performs better, which makes the X800 Pro a more value for money.
