Written by Mavke

An Asus v9999 Gamer Edition has been reviewed at PC Stats. Asus utilized the GeForce 6800 regular GPU with 256MB of 2ns DDR3 memory while clocking the core at 350MHz default. Asus is also using the Ultra PCB layout and a HSF that is similar to those that is used on Ultra models. So this card is featuring just like the Ultra versions 2 power connectors...

With a retail price of $417 US, the Asus v9999GE is a major upgrade, and on the plus side it does come with a free USB web cam for Asus Game Face, and three nice bundled games. Because the card supports S-Video output, Asus also includes a nice long S-Video to Composite cable and DVI to analog converter. Whether you use Asus's GameFace software or not, it's nice to find a webcam that can be used by itself.

Performance of the Asus v9999GE videocard was excellent for the most part, but that is to be expected considering it's using a GeForce 6800 GPU. In almost all benchmarks, the v9999GE fought it out for top spot with the Asus AX800XT/TVD and Albatron GeForce 6800GT. Both are officially higher end cards. So if you're looking for a high end video card for your system, the Asus v9999GE certainly has a lot to offer, and it is damn fast!
