Our test subject is the 512MB version which is substantial in capacity while maintaining a small size thumbnail signature.
The Package:
Corsair's Flash Voyager memory drive rest's in a somewhat typical Corsair configuration package design. Classed as a heat mold stamped retail rack design, this package reflects the Corsair packaging genre and protects the contents and its accessories very well. It's definately child proof, well let's says it's adult proof too! You will need heavy duty scissors to assist in opening the package.
The Flash Voyager is water-resistant, which means it can resist water contact, but this does not mean it is water proof. Submerging this device underwater could result in damage and or device failure. While this design does protect the device from the would-be user who is caught in the rain or some other unforeseen mishaps that could render other flash drives useless.
Being said, we have had reports that these have survived washing machine cycles and another story of a Voyager being dropped in a mug of beer and it still worked afterwards. So it appears as if it has more than just resistants, but we still cant say its water proof. Some people get lucky and some dont.
This Flash Memory Disk is ideal for anyone and everyone, ranging from the technician who has to physically install drivers on cloned systems or for the sports minded individual who would like a cutting edge device to store and transfer data. With the capacity at hand, you will get approximately 420 pictures at 2.5MB or about 120 4MB MP3's to fit on a 512MB Flash Voyager!
While the Flash Voyager is water-resistant, it is also effective against shock. Made of durable rubber, the design helps guard against breakage and will protect the drive from personal fouls, finger fumbles and butter finger mishaps. While this does not mean it can be run over with a front end loader, the average user will have a pretty solid memory drive.
