According to some sources NVIDIA will introduce its upcoming dual GPU card at an upcoming event, which kicks off around mid March. This new card, designated GeForce GTX 590, packs two GF110 cores on a single PCB though we still don't know the details. It should pack 3072MB of GDDR5 memory on a double 384-bit wide bus, but there is no word on the clocks yet. The biggest concern of course, is the power consumption. There is a good chance this GeForce GTX 590 will be the hottest and hungriest card of all time. AMD is also working on its Radeon HD 6990 Antilles board and it should launch at about the same time. And once again both will face each other on a battle for the performance crown. - FudZilla NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 Slated for Release in March!
It appears neither NVIDIA nor AMD will showcase the new boards to the general public at CeBIT, but they should show up a couple of weeks later nonetheless. We already found after a quick check within the beta ForceWare drivers two quite interesting entries inside the information file about the GeForce GTX 590 and the GeForce GTX 550 Ti which are currently listed but we are sure that more details will surface pretty soon. The new GeForce GTX 550 Ti card will apparently look a lot like their GeForce GTX 560 Ti and might even use the same PCB. Of course since it comes with a lower number it will also come at reduced performance.
