Point of View GeForce GTX 570 UltraCharged Review
Written by Mavke
Monday, 13 December 2010

Smack down in the middle of the launch day of the GeForce GTX 570, a couple of board partners already presented their pre-overclocked models. Yeah that's an indicator to us, the more versions announced, the more popular a product tends to get. The GeForce GTX 570 might become a mildly popular product. So roughly four weeks ago NVIDIA released the GeForce GTX 580 card, with an unpredicted amount of success we must add, as we certainly did not expect the popularity of the card to be at the level that it is now. NVIDIA knows this and as such tried to cover their bases. The GeForce GTX 480 is now officially going end of life after its short lived life. To replace it they're introducing, the GeForce GTX 570. - Guru3D

Today's offering is of course an GeForce GTX 570, which we nicked it out of the Eindhoven warehouse from the good people at Point of View. Their TGT team is chunking out several versions based on the GeForce GTX 570. Today we'll have a peek at their Ultra Charged model. This version is an guaranteed stable factory overclocked product that is overclocked towards a pretty impressive value. See, the default core clock frequency of the GeForce GTX 570 is 732MHz, their Ultra Charged is clocked at a blistering 810MHz, which is an pretty decent overclock. Memory wise we spot an increased clock frequency towards 3960MHz effective.

There's no doubt that we like the GeForce GTX 570 Ultra Charged edition from Point of View very much. The product caters that very a-typical audience, folks that just does not want to overclock themselves, yet do yearn for the additional performance. The UC edition comes pre-overclocked and that falls within its nice 3 year warranty. As such it is a hassle free experience, you pop the card in and bam you gain extra performance. But make no mistake though, it is nothing you could not tweak out of a card yourself, even at default GPU voltages. The flipside of that coin is also that the UC version will likely be $50 more expensive.

Now honesty, and common sense needs to be applied here as well, see there is another thing you do need to take into account. With AMD about to release their Radeon HD 6900 series graphics cards, knowing they will match or surpass the performance with hopefully an aggressive price, and that might bring some more balance and or confusion into the pricing. Other than that, there are no concerns with these GeForce GTX 570 UC edition. The temperatures are an itsy bitsy high yet remain under control, the product remains darn silent and it surely offers more than plentiful game rendering performance for any game to date and more.

The baseline performance level of the DirectX 11 class GeForce GTX 570's has gotten a little better with this version, and it will likely attract a lot of guys and gals. If you can find it at the right price, then we without any hesitation would like to recommend the video card to you. The GeForce GTX 570 Ultra Charged edition graphics card from Point of View is impressive and has all the key elements and variables right, Point of View will top off your purchase with a free game as well.
