Back a few days ago we had the chance to present you with the most powerful single GPU card on the market, namely the 2GB variant of the GeForce GTX 285 manufactured by Gainward that also features a custom cooling solution. Though needless to say there are other companies that also manufacture a 2GB variant. Still since the GeForce GTX 285 models currently cost more than $325 we have decided to give you a view of a board which offers similar performance but with a lower price tag, word of course is about the GeForce GTX 275 edition. In fact, the GeForce GTX 275 version is the first product in quite a long time that manages to combine very high performance and a medium price tag. - RWLabs Leadtek WinFast GTX 275 Veyron Model Card Review
Todays unit comes from Leadtek and is based on an reference design which is quite logical since the GeForce GTX 275 variant has not been out in the market for long. And of course we will be putting it up against the Gainward GeForce GTX 285 and other cards to see how well it performs and as you will see later on it does extremely well. So unlike the all time classic warrior that Leadtek always feature on their packages this time the Bugatti Veyron seems to take the lead on the front alongside with the cards features. On the left side we see once more the cards features and right beneath that a list with the system requirements. This Leadtek WinFast GTX 275 is based on the NVIDIA reference design and so it comes with the same casing as most of these cards on the market today. Still the Veyron image just looks great and certainly adds a bit of a nice touch on the appearance of the video card. The Leadtek logo and model name are located at the center of the fan. So Leadtek is a company that uses the green PCB on their cards since this has always been NVIDIA's color. The 3-way capable connector is found on the upper left end of the card. On the right end of the card we see the usuall exhaust which should help vent hot air from the cards interior. Their GeForce GTX 275 really manages to take the crown from the GeForce GTX 260 as the best price to performance card in the market as we speak. Although we are sure that the Radeon HD 4890 is a great card, considering that ATI cards use more electrical power, are somewhat more noisy, output quite more heat and do not have support for PhysX we would say that right now NVIDIA makes more complete solutions. Performance wise the GeForce GTX 275 is quite faster than the older GeForce GTX 260 and almost on par with the GeForce GTX 285 which is very impressive if you take into consideration of its price tag. Now when it comes to overclocking the GeForce GTX 275 is a winner even with the stock cooler. This Leadtek WinFast GTX 275 has a recommended retail price of around $250, so it costs a lot less than its big brother. If you are in the market to buy a new graphics card and you are unsure which one to get then we clearly recommend the Leadtek WinFast GTX 275 since you will not just be getting a cut down version of the GeForce GTX 285 with a much lower price tag but you will also be getting a card that supports CUDA and the PhysX technology which is featured in some game titles in the market and many upcoming ones as well.
