Inno3D GeForce GTX 275 896MB OC Graphics Review
Written by Mavke
Thursday, 21 May 2009

The funny thing about the GeForce GTX 275 is that it does kill a bit of the value for the GeForce GTX 285, which ultimately means that it's not the best model for NVIDIA. For the user however, it is a different story. What you are able to get is performance similar to the GeForce GTX 285 without having to spend the money. Today we're going to be looking at a GTX 275 from Inno3D which has that lovely overclocked word printed on the front of the box. What we'll do before we have a closer look at the card and its performance is see what Inno3D have done with the package and bundle. Considering we have seen a few it's going to be a tough fight, but hopefully there's something that helps the card stand out. - TweakTown

Having a look at the front of the box we can see the Inno3D logo down the side of it and in the top right corner. Moving to the left we can see the word OverClock while most of the box is taken up with a picture of a female warrior. Moving down we have the NVIDIA and HDMI logo along with mention of some games. Below that we have GeForce GTX 275 mentioned and across the bottom we have a bit of information on CUDA along with the model, and some of the main features like 896MB of GDDR3 memory and a 448-bit bus. Looking at the back of the box we have a typical run down of information ranging the different features.

Having a look at the graphics card we can see the Inno3D hasn't chosen to move away from the stock cooler. Now while that's not a bad thing, we have seen a few companies move away from it and it has bought some superior cooling numbers. This isn't the end of the world though, cause on a whole the stock cooler does a good job of keeping temperatures under control. As for making it unique Inno3D have of course stickered it up. So we can see the model and another showing of what we saw on the front of the box. On the fan we have the brand and again Inno3D make mention that the video card is an overclocked model.

And as we have mentioned a few times, this particular model from Inno3D comes overclocked out of the box. Inno3D have really ramped up the core clock from the stock 633MHz to a massive 700MHz, and this has in turn increased the shader to 1474MHz. As for the 896MB of GDDR3 memory, that's gone from 2268MHz to 2380MHz effective clock speeds. And this is a rather nice overclock and should yield some good performance gains. These GeForce GTX 275 continues to be an excellent performing graphics card and this Inno3D version helps give us even more performance which will certainly show a positive effect during game play.

While the company hasn't chosen to change the cooler of the board, there is really nothing wrong with the reference one and while it's a little louder than some of the aftermarket ones, it is just more than reasonable for most users. If the performance that the card offers wasn't enough though, Inno3D have done a great job with the package by including not only one full version game, but two. This combined with the overclock means we've really got a great purchase here for people who want more than just your standard clocked card which doesn't come with much of a bundle while this is an excellent package all together.

Inno3D have put a really good board together and the decision to go with the reference cooler keeps price down which is always nice for people who want the performance but don't want to pay the extra money of an aftermarket cooler. If you want a GeForce GTX 275 that comes with a nice bundle while offering some good performance and don't mind the extra dB's that come out of the stock cooler, the Inno3D version of the card we have here is extremely impressive.
