Newest GeForce GTX 295 Fast But To Cost Over $450
Written by Mavke
Monday, 05 January 2009

The GeForce GTX 295, the fastest dual GPU card from NVIDIA's lap, is going to launch on January 8th. At this time, some partners should have some limited availability of these products and we expect it to be priced in the $450-500 price range. The best case scenario is that they will sell for a bit more than $450. This dual GPU board won't be cheap, but some overclocked GeForce GTX 280 are selling for more than $400 and you can expect that the GeForce GTX 295 is significantly faster than any of the good old GeForce GTX 280. As we mentioned before, the GeForce GTX 280 will shortly be replaced by GeForce GTX 285, a bit faster and 55nm version of the graphics card. - FudZilla

Well it is now clear that the GeForce GTX 295 solution will be there to dominate the benchmarks for at least a few months. If you are one of those people who want and need the latest and greatest, and you want to get this dual GPU card then you should be able to, at some point after January 8th. For those of you wondering when exactly the new GeForce GTX 285 graphics cards will see the light of day, the wraps will be taken off the dual GPU weilding beheamoth this coming thursday, whilst the refined 55nm single GPU based GeForce GTX 285 card won't show up until a week later to be exact.

Now running back over some of the specs confirmed for these two cards, the GeForce GTX 295 runs its two GT200b cores at 576MHz, with 480 processing cores at 1242MHz and the 1792MB of GDDR3 memory at 1998MHz. It has a two 448-bit memory interfaces and also boasts quad SLI support. Their single GPU based GeForce GTX 285 board runs its core clock at 648MHz, whilst their 240 processing cores and memory clocks operate at 1476MHz and 2484MHz speeds respectively. And so these will soon be available to rule the high-end segment.
