XFX GeForce GTX 260 896MB Black Graphics Preview

XFX was kind enough to send us a nice package containing the fastest GeForce GTX 260 and currently very popular Far Cry 2 game. The XFX edition of the latest GeForce GTX 260 has the Black edition suffix, and the Black edition versions traditionally come at higher clock speeds than reference NVIDIA's cards, and even higher than the already excisting pre-overclocked versions designed by XFX. So, it's an overclocked GeForce GTX 260 card based on GT200 core running at 666MHz. Meaning XFX overclocked the core by 90MHz and stream processors from 1242MHz to 1404MHz clock speed. The Black edition is one of the fastest single chip cards and it didn't even break a sweat running Far Cry 2. - FudZilla

And yeah, we played the game through one day one using XFX's GeForce GTX 280 card, and although we agreed that the graphics are excellent, we liked the first Far Cry more. The GeForce GTX 260 does very well in this games with very nice landscapes and great performance, even if we up the stakes and select those high definition widescreen resolutions. On that aspect Far Cry 2 is a better choice than Crysis, although the Crysis game does have a greater game play. But that would somehow be a personal feeling. The visuals however are very comparable, but again we would be in favor of the Crysis engine.
