There's gotta be a weakness with this card. It seems too perfect, it's available at a primo price, meaning under $150. It plays impressively well every game we threw at it. It's quiet, it sips power. It costs less than a hundred fifty dollars. It's good at video playback. Everyone recommends the GeForce 9600 GT first, and they should. It's got a price to performance ratio unlike any card before. We're not exaggerating, this card could very well be the best deal NVIDIA has ever put to market. That is what they are really going after, cheap graphics cards though fast enough. We spent a day with Chaintech's factory overclocked card and we found a couple things we didn't like. Deal breakers, hardly. - TechLounge Chaintech GeForce 9600 GT 512MB OC Board Review
The GeForce 9600 GT's got a stock heatsink and a green PCB, but then they're not bad. The cooling is sturdy, slender, and quiet while idling. The sticker's not reference. If this is your first serious gaming video card, you'll probably think it's long at just shy of nine inches, but it's practically diminutive in relation to its ass-kicking capacity. Chaintech forgoes extras in lieu of factory overclocks. We have to give credit where it's due, and NVIDIA and Chaintech teamed up nicely on this card. Not only is a GeForce 9600 GT quite possibly the best deal in video card history, but it sets a standard for power consumption and noise. Chaintech's card stands out over other GeForce 9600 GT's with its overclocking, both factory improvement and potential extra. However, overclocking increases the likeliness that you will have some moderate coil noise, a small risk with this admittedly budget part. The power hardware, the card layout, and cooling don't deviate from stock design, and could probably benefit from a little tweaking, if only to match the superb performance. We would consider this video card to be expendable. It's very good, and will absolutely play any current games. It may even be a little future proof, especially since two are downright affordable. Buy the GeForce 9600 GT graphics card now and get the most possible out of it, but know a few corners have been cut. It can easily match the performance of more expensive and higher rates cards, though it does take up all you money. And if you stil would be in doubt then don't be as this card is the best value for your money. Still, there's even a rebate.
