New NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT Supports HybridPower

NVIDIA's soon to launch dual 6-pin power connector GeForce 9800 GT graphics card will support HybridPower. This is not really a surprise, and at the same time it isn't that exciting, either. The GeForce 9800 GTX is, as you know, based on the same chip as the GeForce 8800 GTS and GT and, together with the GeForce 9800 GX2, it's a high performance card that supports this power saving feature. The GeForce 9 series means HybridPower support, but please don't forget that for such a card you need a board that supports it, and so far only the nForce 780a that supports the Phenom and Athlon series is out. An Intel alternative is yet to be launched, but should be ready soon as well. - FudZilla

We got ourselves just known about the G92, but this time it's the G92b and no wonder the market is confused, since NVIDIA is selling many products with the same chips but different shader configs and clocks. The upcoming GeForce 9800 GT card will have a major difference compared to the previous GeForce 8800 GT. It will have dual 6-pin power connectors that really mean that the card might need more power. From what we've heard the GeForce 9800 GT has the same 112 shader units and the same clock as the GeForce 8800 GT, but at the same time it should be possible to overclock it a bit better than the old card.

The second major difference might be that many people will use some dual slot cooler, but we don't know if this is a requirement or just a choice. Or maybe this is some way of differentiating the two versions, while the GeForce 9800 GT should normally be cooler, though coming bit a bigger cooling solution. This sounds more like an overclocker choice which might become a dream of a card for the hardcore overclockers. And two times 6-pin power inlets will end up on every video card, giving enough power for stable operation and gaming, even at increased clock speeds.
