ActionTrip has an article
on the insanity surrounding the pending release of Half-Life 2. So at this
point, many of you probably know that the street date has been broken, you could
probably walk into most stores and buy Half-Life 2. But you can't play it yet. Oh no, you can't play
it at all. See, Valve
had said that if the date got broken, they would release it on Steam. Well, they can't. Vivendi is saying
no.
Half-Life 2 Street Date Breaking Insanity
I see two real dangers here. One is that all of the fans are horribly frustrated by the fact that they still can't play it (and those of us that ordered it online (not via Steam) still don't have their copy in any form) and the other is that people that don't know so much about Half-Life 2 or the complete mess it has become will buy it, find out they can't play it, and return it in frustration. A frustration they have every right to have.
If people didn't want this game so badly, I think they'd be recieving the Diakatana treatment, Valve is now completely discredited in everything that they say, that was one of the main points that Anon was trying to make when he stole the game. They've lied to us. |
