Last week the new dual-GPU GeForce 9800 GX2 graphics card launched. Today we are going to take a look at another GeForce 9800 GX2 graphics card, and this time it is one from PNY. Now before we continue we just need to clarify that currently almost all GeForce 9800 GX2 cards are just as the reference design from NVIDIA and don't feature yet any pre-overclocked settings. On that aspect PNY is quite a default adapter and doesn't really make much special versions as such. The PNY GeForce 9800 GX2 shares the same features as with the other GeForce 9800 GX2 video cards, though comes at a nice price tag compared to the competition, meaning slightly more interesting for any buyer. - I4U News PNY GeForce 9800 GX2 XLR8 Graphics Board Review
The PNY GeForce 9800 GX2 card has a core clock of 600MHz, a memory clock of 2000MHz and a shader clock of 1500MHz. these clock speeds are the same as the XFX GeForce 9800 GX2 we checked out last week. The PNY GeForce 9800 GX2 uses 1GB of GDDR3 memory, giving each GPU a total of 512MB frame buffer. And looking from that point it can be considered as a dual G92 based GeForce 8800 GTS all bundled in one single graphics card. Like the XFX version, the PNY GeForce 9800 GX2 requires both a 6-pin and a 8-pin PCI Express power adapter, and that means a quite decent power supply is required. After all the testing was done, our second round with a PNY GeForce 9800 GX2 reaffirmed what we found the first time out with the XFX branded card. The GeForce 9800 GX2 is one beast of a graphics cards around. The PNY GeForce 9800 GX2 is able to play games at settings unobtainable with any two other video cards. The only real draw back is the cost of the card at right under $600 and the fact that you will probably need a new power supply. The PNY GeForce 9800 GX2 is the king of performance when it comes to current video cards. Related Articles Tuesday Finally Quad SLI For GeForce 9800 GX2 Day!
