Gaming Benchmarks (Cont.) Let's continue with the next games we have selected, being Far Cry and Richard Burns Rally. Both games who are very popular amongst gamers and that will give a good idea on the performance delivered by the GeForce 6800 Ultra.

The meticulously designed next-generation CryEngine pushes the threshold of action gaming with proprietary Polybump™ mapping, advanced environment physics, destructible terrain, dynamic lighting, motion-captured animation, and total surround sound. Far Cry in game video environment was set to High using 32bit color in each resolution. Installed was the latest Far Cry Patch v1.3 for the test, which significantly increased performance over the v1.2 patch. We used default settings and didn't bother using the optimizations using Shader Model 3.0. However for the benches we used the default Shader Model 2.0x for the testing purposes.

Richard Burns Rally is a rally simulation game and it is the most accurate recreation of real life rallying seen to date. Every aspect of modern rallying has been precisely modeled to allow the player to experience life as a top-class rally driver. Richard Burns Rally surpasses its rivals in every area, graphical quality, technical accuracy, car physics, game play and unique features. The GeForce 6800 Ultra PCX rips through the critically acclaimed title with flying colors. With averages of over 72FPS using 4xAA & 8xAF under 1600x1200 resolution, this game runs like a champ under this hardware.
