True Green Laser Power & Usage...

We are going to prepare the laser for operations by removing the barrel end-cap that covers the battery compartment. Next we will remove the green and black protective aperture cover. The picture shows the relative size as compared to the C-type batteries required to power the Hulk laser torch. As you can see the Dragon Lasers Hulk laser is not just an ordinary pen laser. We decided since we had brand new alkaline batteries lying around, we would test with those to make sure we have the latest stock and newest lot of power cells. And for those interested in buying the Hulk green laser from Dragon Lasers that no batteries are included so you will need to go out and buy some yourself.

So to actually power the Dragon Lasers Hulk green laser we need two C-type batteries can plug these into the back of the metal enclosure. Pushing in the first one followed by the second battery and then you can close down the laser. And yes to know which side should be put in first, like the positive or negative side a small paper is coming with the laser to detail this. Once done the Hulk is ready for usage. So somehow draw your attention to this laser torch rather than a laser pen, the pen version only require two AAA-type batteries which are also good for providing the required 3V powering the laser. That is actually a huge difference as the C-type batteries are as capacity at least three times bigger.

Once the batteries are in place and the end-cap it screwed on you can start to use the Hulk laser. Now to make it clear this is a high power laser so using it in a closed room is not really a good idea as the laser beam can diverge on the obstacles and still indirectly cause eye damage. So before you try it out, just step outside and use it there but don't point directly to any persons. The operation is very simple as it is just a matter of pressing the blue button and of course opening lens shutter. At that moment the green laser will show it full potential and release a beam which will last for quite some kilometers. In practical terms, the beam has enough range to reach over head clouds and buildings or tall land marks in other suburbs

Eye Protection, Laser Safety Glasses

Dragon Lasers knows the importance of protecting your eyes and offers these CE certified laser glasses. The lenses provide a high level of visual transmission while absorbing and attenuating light at the laser wavelength of 532nm. The lightweight polycarbonate filters meet or exceed US and international laser safety and optical standards, including various laser standards. The laser glasses are impact resistant and offer light weight protection from greenies of all power ratings manufactured by Dragon Lasers. Personal eye-protection is specially recommended for use with all kinds of more performant laser modules. Polycarbonate lens are a cost effective alternative to glass, while maintaining excellent optical focus and filtering, offering eye protection at a reduced cost as appose to glass filters.

Now safety with high powered laser pointers is a critical topic that cannot be overlooked. Despite their brilliant beams and ability to burn, high power laser pointers and portable lasers are only a danger to your eyes. The danger that laser pointers represent to your eyes though is very serious. The visual receptors in your eyes are part of your central nervous system which means if our eyes are damaged, they do not heal or recover. What makes the light from laser pointers so dangerous is that it has two unique properties. The energy is focused on a very small area similar to the way a magnifying glass focuses the sun. The light does not spread out from a laser; it stays in a focused narrow beam that makes laser pointers almost as dangerous at a distance as close up.

This not to say you should be afraid of laser pointers or avoid using them. What you should do however is to treat laser pointers with respect, be aware of their dangers and follow some basic guidelines to ensure your safety as we just explained. If you adhere to some simple guidelines and exercise simple common sense and care, you will be able to enjoy and use your laser pointers in complete safety. And for that reason as well it is highly recommended to use safety glasses while using the Hulk laser unless you are in a wide open space with no danger to other persons. The glasses are the perfect personal eye-protection and are essential when using high powered lasers such as the Hulk series laser torch.

Well, we actually got the safety glasses enclosed with the Hulk laser as a little extra but when you are buying the Hulk laser yourself we would need to advise you to also invest a bit of extra money and also get these protective laser glasses. Having used the safety glasses during our experience with the Dragon Lasers Hulk series we can say that these very practical and can be worn over other glasses. And when having the safety glasses on the laser beam dot remain clearly visible while object do not appear dark. And it comes with a nice protective bag for the safety glasses themselves.
