Zotac is the first one who dared to overclock the small G92 GPU on the GeForce 8800 GT cards to 700MHz. We are pleased to announce that we have one of these AMP! Edition cards and the first results are much better than the results of the stock GeForce 8800 GT. In the 3DMark06 benchmark it scores even better than the GeForce 8800 GTX graphics accelerator. The Zotac GeForce 8800 GT card has 512MB of GDDR3 memory with 256-bit memory interface, and comes with a single slot active cooling solution. It's not exactly the reference card as designed by NVIDIA because Zotac added bigger fans and made some extra vents on the cooler surface for improved air flow. - Fudzilla Zotac GeForce 8800 GT 512MB AMP! The shader clock on Zotac's AMP! Edition card comes at 1700MHz, and memory also works at 2000MHz. So that means that the AMP! Edition is a fully overclocked version of the reference GeForce 8800 GT in every aspect. Doing so Zotac is able to beat in our preliminary 3DMark06 benchmark every high-end graphics card currently out there in the market including the GeForce 8800 GTX version. Yeah, no GeForce 8800 Ultra as we had no reference of this one laying around to also pull into the benchmark run. But it does proof that the GeForce 8800 GT is a great improvement and does come at a nice price tag.
