First thing's first, Jetway has been around in the graphics and mainboard industry for a long time. You probably have heard the name a couple of times. Usually they do a lot of SKU ands OEM manufacturing for other partners; yes, as a lot of the products you buy are re-badged and could be made by Jetway. Slowly they are now moving onward to the retail channel, and why not? Seriously, Jetway is responsible for some serious high-quality hardware. Today we'll have a look at the Radeon HD 2900 XT from Jetway, one of the first retail versions. Next to that, since we actually got two of these Radeon HD 2900 XT cards, we will put em together via the CrossFire technology. - Guru3D Jetway Radeon HD 2900 XT 512MB CrossFire Review
They recently released Radeon HD 2900 XT, as we'll show is a really fine piece of hardware. Performance wise it sits among the GeForce 8800 GTS cards. The more interesting thing is that it'll be a high-end product at a very interesting pricel evel; about $399. Since that is a manufacturer suggested retail price you can expect prices of $350 soon. The Jetway HD X2900 XT boards is HDMI and HDCP ready, has Avivo HD and as bundle will shipped with three full free games. These games are included as a coupon and you must download it yourself through Valve's steam. But yeah... Great stuff. The AMD Radeon HD 2900 series features 320 stream processors, over twice as many as NVIDIA's GeForce 8800 GTX, yet clocked way slower. AMD couples the 320 stream processors with a 512-bit memory interface with eight channels. CrossFire support is now natively supported by the ATI Radeon HD 2900 series; the external CrossFire dongle is a thing of the past. Much like NVIDIA's G80 silicon, AMD's Radeon HD 2900 series also possesses the ability of physics processing with the help of the unified shader architecture, DirectX 10. Yes, physics can be done through shaders. As most of you with video cards know, you can apply a simple series of tricks to boost the overall performance a little. Overclocking was quite interesting as we achieved similar overclock compared to the reference model, and that's quite an extensive overclock as we could push the Jetway Radeon HD 2900 XT towards 848MHz on the core and 1800MHz for the memory. The overclock result in a higher temperature though, not much, but add another 2-3°C on the graphics core. Again, that's extremely hot, yet the graphics card can deal with it very well and the performance increase is there. So then; Jetway is delivering as promised. This product is completely based of the reference product and clocked to the MHz precisely the same. It also overclocks the same, makes just as much noise and gives you exactly the same performance. And hey, that's really good. But to get noticed, Jetway needs to address one issue; they need to differentiate themselves from the rest. Right now this card will be just the same as the rest, differentiation is really important as only then you get noticed. Insert a free mouse or something; do something weird to get noticed! If you are in the market for a Radeon HD 2900 XT, there's quite honestly nothing negative to say compared to other board partners. Jetway will offer you an extensive package with everything you need. You'll receive a card that is performing in the high-end range, you get to have full HDMI and HDCP support, HD media playback, the Black Box game bundle and all that for a really terrific price. A nice job done Jetway! Related Articles ASUS Radeon HD 2900 XT CrossFire Ready Review AMD Radeon HD 2900 XT 512MB HDCP Ready Review ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT 512MB PCI Express Review
