Gainward is a world leading producer of high-quality, high-end 3D accelerators for the personal computer market. Gainward offers a full product line of value adding products targeting gaming enthusiasts as well as entry-level consumers. Today we have a treat for you as I will be checking out the Gainward BLISS 8800 GTS 640MB, actually the Golden Sample in SLI config. This is one of the latest GeForce chipsets on the market, holding a massive 640MB of memory on each card. Which adds up to a total of 1280MB of graphics memory which should be more than enough to play the latest games on the market, as well as some future exciting titles. - Xtreme Computing Gainward BLISS 8800 GTS 640MB SLI Ready Review
Add to that they are also the Golden Sample editions with a GPU clock speed of 550MHz and a memory speed of 1760MHz, we are expecting great things. We like the Gainward box, the render is nice and the color scheme appealing but we think it is a little boring and could be improved upon, another bad point is the lack of information on the box, apart from some small descriptions it is very plain. The back in our opinion is better than the front, it gives some good pictures on the improvement that the GeForce 8800 will have on your games and there is a lot of detailed specifications. The thing that caught our eye was the massive amount of memory on-board the card. We somehow expect good things from the Gainward cards after looking at this. One thing we should also point out, even though you probably already know is that the GeForce 8800 series is currently the only DirectX 10 card and with that in mind it should be bursting all games still using the previous DirectX technology. The Gainward BLISS 8800 GTS is a very attractive card indeed with the robust cooler and a nice color scheme, and although just like all the GeForce 8800 GTS models it shares the same cooler. Overall we are impressed, the Gainward BLISS 8800 GTS Golden Sample was a delight in SLI mode, the performance side proved to be on the ball at the higher resolutions and with only a slight frame drop the higher you got. This is what SLI was intended for and that's what this package will do for you. The cards not once faulted us on any of the games I played. Having said that it two of these cards are quite a premium when compared to a single card. But if high resolution gaming is what your after then you should give the Gainward BLISS 8800 GTS Golden Sample a look.
