Zogis GeForce 7950 GT 512MB PCI Express Review
Written by Mavke

The GeForce 7950 GT is targeted to users that want a high-end video card but don't want or don't have the money to buy the most high-end one like GeForce 7900 GTX, GeForce 7950 GX2 or cards from the new GeForce 8800 family. And although the GeForce 8800 series are these days very popular, they do come with a higher price tag. Next to that the GeForce 7950 GT comes at a very attractive price with decent performance, and above all features 512MB memory. That together with the G71 chip should already please a lot if gamers out there. Let's take a look on the performance of the GeForce 7950 GT model from Zogis and compare it to other video cards available. - Hardware Secret

The GeForce 7950 GT is actually positioned between the GeForce 7900 GT and the GTX, running at 550MHz core and accessing its memory at 1.4GHz. The Zogis version was completely running at default clock speeds just as NVIDIA defined it. Since it follows the design set by NVIDIA for the GeForce 7950 GT cards from other manufacturers should achieve the same performance as this model from Zogis. It comes equipped with 512MB memory rated at 1.4ns, which is good for 1400MHz operation. Which somehow means that it leaves no real room for overclocking on the memory chips.

As we mentioned before, the GeForce 7950 GT is positioned between The GeForce 7900 GT and GTX, bringing a terrific performance for its price range. In our opinion the GeForce 7950 GT is the best video card on the $250 range. Of course if this is too much for you, you can pick a GeForce 7900 GT or a Radeon X1950 PRO graphics card. If you have $50 more to spend we highly recommend the new GeForce 8800 GTS with 320MB, as it brings a very high performance for a price not that high, compared to the usual price range of very high-end video cards, of course.
