A little while ago we took a look at the Sapphire Radeon X1300 XT video card. It proved to be a great midrange card, especially for the price. Well today we will be talking a look at its bigger brother on the high-end; the Radeon X1900 XT. I was really excited to get the Radeon X1900 XT and see what it had to offer. It really changed the way I play games and the feel of those games. This is actually the slower version of the Radeon X1900 XTX, but features the same chip and memory modules. So it should be close to the XTX version, with similar features and performance. And, just like its younger brother the X1900 XT comes in a very attractive retail box. - ThinkComputers Sapphire Radeon X1900 XT 512MB Graphics Review
Sapphire uses a red PCB with a cooling system that features a red cooling fan. This is a good match, which gives great look and feel. On the cooling system you will find a picture of the typical alien figure that was on the retail box. We saw this same character as well when we looked at the Radeon X1300 XT accelerator. While the cooling system looks good it is also very heavy duty. Taking a closer look we can see that the heatsink is made of all copper. As we all know from CPU cooling testing copper is best for heatsinks, but also makes things a bit heavier. The fan is big and pumps air right out the back of your case. I really enjoyed this card. It plays all of my favorite games at their full potential! Sapphire has really done a great job with the Radeon X1900 XT. From looks to the features the card has it all. The card comes with all of the connectors you will need for any configuration, along with some nice software and drivers. The in-game performance is just amazing and games look extremely fluid and smooth. Installation is very easy and the power connection is conveniently located at the end of the card. I will be using this card in my main system and have no plans of replacing it anytime soon! Related Articles |
