Enhanced Overclocking Performance

And to end it all, just one last try to see how far we can actually push these G.Skill modules. So we just started playing around with our Core 2 Duo E6400 processor and overclocking it to 3.0GHz. This in fact resulted that our E6700 ran at 1200MHz rated FSB but the memory remained at 800MHz, which will show us the impact of a greater processor on the actual memory performance. We ended up with having a nice 3.0GHz dual core processor and could even apply the G.Skill advertised timings of 4-4-3-5. To proof that this overclock was stable on both the CPU and memory we ran some benchmarks. We will only share the SiSoftware Sandra results, to provide you the memory bandwidth raw power indication.

Where it all comes down to is this, these G.Skill Low Latency memory modules do as advertised and even better. In term of performance these memory modules are excellent and very stable. When we are applying some higher voltage, like OCZ and Corsair are really promoting within their lifetime warranty we even get better results. Having set the voltage at 2.2V we could get these Low Latency series all up to 1000MHz although applying a but more relaxed memory timings. Awesome results for some outstanding memory, way to go G.Skill!

Final Thoughts

Being the first time having checked some memory product from G.Skill we must say that we were very pleasantly surprised by the performance. Yes, this memory kit comes advertised by G.Skill to be fast and having a F1 car image on the package, but that is exactly what these modules have done as well. The memory sticks delivered rock stable, ultra fast speed and excellent performance. The G.Skill Low Latency PC2-6400 Edition dual channel kit is a real screamer and with today's system requirements, it is ever increasing knowledge that in order to stay on the cutting edge of performance, extra ram capacity is a necessity. G.Skill has consistently provided some of the most dependable memory available. So solid that their high performance chips are often retagged and sold as enthusiast memory by other leading resellers.

G.Skill once again designed a pair of very versatile modules for the enthusiasts and gamers. These modules can be adjusted for many systems, as they can handle a different set of timings at each speed. Overclockers will love the overclocking potential of the modules, plus their ability to maintain tighter timings at considerably high speeds. The appearance of the modules is nothing extraordinary, but the green PCB and striking grey heat spreaders can appeal to modders. This way the G.Skill Low Latency memory modules get into the team of overclocker memory solutions, as well as becoming very interesting for the case modders amongst us. And don't forget that these G.Skill modules come with great stability and memory bandwidth which is a great asset for a high performing computer system.

G.Skill has been in overclocking for some time now, and the Low Latency Edition modules do show the best of what G.Skill has managed to engineer. G.Skill has been in the memory business for a very long time and most people would recognize the G.Skill name. Having quality memory is vital in today's high performance systems. This is especially true if you are performance tweaking that system. So many system issues can be attributed to inferior memory. That's not the case with this memory. The G.Skill Low Latency PC2-6400 Edition memory is fast, overclockable, reliable, compatible, and extremely stable. And don't forget these are backed with a lifetime warranty which does add some extra added value on purchasing these excellent memory sticks.

With outstanding performance and stability, combined with excellent overclocking head room, this ram is without a doubt the fastest sticks of DDR2-800 stuffed in our system, period. These Low Latency Edition modules are a great choice for the hardcore gamers and enthusiasts who like to overclock their systems. These can also sustain better timings than what they are rated for. And if you are looking for some decent memory or performing an upgrade, we would definitely put this on our shopping list of upgrades and so should you! This ram is just designed for running in your system...
