Introduction G.Skill, great skill in memory world! Although it is our first contact with G.Skill, the name sounds very familiar and certainly known by many. G.Skill was established in 1989 by enthusiasts, and has become a leading memory module manufacturer which is based in Taiwan. Their mission is to provide superior memory products and satisfactory services in order to keep pace with the customers growing needs, and help customers in adding value to their products. And pledge by continuing doing so to enable both sides to obtain significant competitive advantages in the market segments. At G.Skill, top priority is the quality standard. All of the products are put through a series of rigorous tests and strict quality control procedures. To that end, G.Skill strives for the highest and advanced quality from the initial design, through inspection, packaging until the final shipping. Additionally to all that G.Skill is able to quickly respond to the changing market conditions and fulfill customers needs by fully utilizing flexible operation process. They provide the widest breadth of products available in the memory industry and will continue to develop products on the cutting edge of technology. Their highly skilled team of research, development, technical, sales and service professionals make G.Skill the choice for businesses that recognize the importance of placing customers need first. Even though most of us know the G.Skill brand name, do you know there products? Their wide ranges of memory products are hard to keep up, and they have more DDR2 ram solutions you can think of. G.Skill's high performance memory is gaining a reputation as some of the most exciting and desirable high-end memory on the market today.
Almost every major memory manufacturer has DDR2-800 memory parts, but the ones of greatest interest to hobbyists are those from well known high-end memory makers. G.Skill seemed to come out of nowhere a couple of years ago to establish themselves as a manufacturer of enthusiast memory. To that extend G.Skill has certainly already proven their dedication and mission to become one of the leading high performance memory manufacturers. The DDR2 memory market has grown so competitive in the past few months, we see makers ceaselessly expanding their range of offerings, dividing and segmenting products down to nifty price range. And on top of trying to offer the fastest official specifications, makers are building diversity such that consumers get quite a big choice according to their budgets. This is good news for consumers, and competition brings the prices down, and quite often, the performance up. The G.Skill Low Latency PC2-6400 2GB dual channel memory kit came in the somewhat different and unique cardboard package which contains G.Skill's latest offering in high performance, but affordable memory. The packaging isn't at all what other manufactures are using as well, a thin cardboard package equipped with the individual memory sticks and specifications. In that way G.Skill does stands out in the crowd by using a different way on getting their memory products to the market. On top of that the package can be reused, as it is easy to open and secure again. The artwork of the package is an extra way of being different and that is what G.Skill has done. They made it shiny and put a F1 racing car image on the top to set the emphasis on the performance and speed of these DDR2 memory sticks.
The green/blue paperboard box is sealed with a two transparent G.Skill stickers, and by doing so making sure the package has not been opened upon arrival or purchase. The same way of shipping is used all their packages and a common standard that G.Skill applies to set their products apart from the competition. And by all means you can even take a peak inside by just opening the top cover which is not sealed and that will provide you a look inside, revealing the actual memory sticks. So they opted for a simple way show the memory modules for all eyes to see and drool over. The big G.Skill label stretched across the top of the cardboard is also decent marketing point. With that G.Skill name comes quality and performance that is quite known amongst all enthusiasts and overclockers alike.
The package itself is more than just the front, which only has to leave a first impression of G.Skill with a clear focus towards speed and performance. By turning the box around, you will find a bit more details about the memory sticks which are nicely detailed in the right corner on the back of the paperboard box. The white sticker provides the details of the memory modules, which in our case are 800MHz dual channel chips, also labeled as PC2-6400. And G.Skill takes the opportunity to put their strengths for all to see and read. Their products are build direct from the manufacturer source, with quality assurance and lifetime warranty. At the bottom you also find the address if G.Skill with their website. A very fancy package with all the details clearly visible to avoid any confusing towards a potential buyer.
Upon opening the package, you will find a simple plastic blister package with the memory modules nicely enclosed. This type of package is very common and frequently used by other manufacturers. This means that G.Skill just found a way to differentiate itself form the competition by adding an extra layer on top, to make their product slightly more appealing. But in the end they just use a similar way as most manufacturers to keep the modules save during shipping. Each memory stick comes with a label which provides the speed, size, part number, special series and timings information. What isn't provided with this package are the different awards and statements about their products, which quite some manufacturers do use very often to market their products. All well considered their package certainly has the looks and will attract potential buyers quite easily.
