High Performance Results (Cont.)

Indeed I couldn't keep you all from also providing you the Everest benchmark results of the Crucial 10th Anniversary at 800MHz speed. So again once the system was rebooted with our Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 at 1.86GHz I fired up Everest Ultimate Edition software suite from Lavalys and started to compile the outcome of the test runs. The memory latency was set manually to the lowest possible, which resulted in 4-4-4-12 for these Limited Edition sticks. So let's dig into the findings of the DDR2-800 performance...

And to set the records straight the memory ran at 800MHz and with optimized memory timings selected manually. The timings are reported as 4-4-4-12 which is quite common for PC2-6400 ram modules. Although currently these figures are slightly decreasing on the latest version which have reduced or what is called enhanced latency.

Memory Read Results

So what does it say at 800MHz clock speed for Everest, well we actually put down one hell of a score, namely 10837MB/s. Who will do better? I was amazed at how well these performed and Everest Ultimate Edition just confirmed my impressions. Fast as hell and topping of a top score on performance. Who would have figured that these 10th Anniversary sticks would go that fast?

Memory Write Results

Once again I am impressed; the Crucial 10th Anniversary memory puts down a score of 4816MB/s. If we compare those with the latest enhanced performance results we notice no boost at all, but a similar result on the Memory Write benchmark. Can that be explained? Well somehow that might also be linked with the performance of the Core 2 Duo E6300 which only runs at 1.86GHz and the interaction. However I would like to see how other DDR2 memory would act on this particular benchmark test.

Memory Copy Results

Next on our radar is the copy result which has gone up once again. When going for the 800MHz setting we are seeing an increase of about 100MB/s related to the fully optimized DDR2-667 operation. So the Crucial 10th Anniversary certainly has what it takes and more to deliver outstanding performance, and keeps the system running smooth and stable. A great result from their Limited Edition series!

Memory Latency Results

And last but not least the Memory Latency results, which show again a nice decrease to about 65.8ns. Quite a nice score and at least much better than what we have seen with the DDR memory kits. These Crucial 10th Anniversary memory modules do have very stable operation and the latency index is just right. The lower the better, well that is exactly what is happening when running these sticks at 800MHz.

After having overclocked the Crucial processor to meet the 800MHz required memory bus speed to fully utilize the hidden potential of the 10th Anniversary dual channel memory kit I am very pleased to have these sticks in my hands. They perform better then I ever expected from DDR2-667 memory and even at DDR2-800 settings they deliver excellent performance, just awesome!
