NVIDIA did a a paper launch of the GeForce 7950 GT some two weeks ago and said to its loyal press that they will be able to post reviews on the 14th of September as that should be the availability day. We spoke with a bunch of NVIDIA partners and learned and confirmed that only the Dutch based Point of View actually has some cards. NVIDIA's suggested retail price is around €250 but it looks like Point of View is selling it for around €300 for Germans. Point of View offers a 24 pipelines GeForce 7950 GT card, which comes clocked at 550MHz core and 1400MHz memory. Which is actually set according to the reference design set by NVIDIA about two weeks ago. - The Inquirer NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT cards barely available
After checking further, we found out that Leadtek actually has their GeForce 7950 GT card available for about €260. The other partners are still expecting volume batches of these cards and some of them confirmed that they should have some serious quantities by the end of the month. NVIDIA officially stated and said that the suggested retail price for Geforce 7950 GT is actually €329. Of course all partners of NVIDIA can set their own price on their version of the GeForce 7950 GT, and this to have some competition amongst themselves. In the end it is up to the customer to make a choice.
