NVIDIA quietly introduced its next generation GeForce 7100 GS card. It is a passive card, yeah, NVIDIA can be passive, that is supposed to replace the cheapest of them all, yeps the venerable GeForce 6200 TurboCache edition. XpertVision is one of the first partners to introduce the card. The card should cost €79 and will come with 128MB or 256MB of DDR2 memory. In TurboCache mode, the card will be able to address as much as 512MB of memory but you will need to have at least 1024MB of system memory to do it. This means that the card physically has 256MB of memory and it will address an additional 256MB from the system memory and it will act as it has 512MB. - The Inquirer NVIDIA quietly introduces the GeForce 7100 GS
The GeForce 7100 GS will support the SLI mode. The memory works with a 64-bit memory bus, just as with the GeForce 7300 LE version. The card is based on the G72 chip but we don't know the exact chips speed, but according to the input received, it should be clocked at around 350MHz core and 600MHz memory. We are of course talking about a PCI Express card. XpertVision has some more details on the GeForce 7100 GS, although real specifications aren't yet available. It should be available shortly, and quite some brands have announced their version of the GeForce 7100 GS, like Sparkle, Inno3D, Prolink,... Related Articles |
