NVIDIA plans to introduce two new lower clocked graphics cards based on its existing chips. The GeForce 7900 GS will be a lower clocked G71 based card, we understand but we don't know what cut down speed it will whirr around at. The second one will be the GeForce 7500 GT, probably based on NVIDIA's G73 core and it is therefore logical to conclude it will be cheaper and run at at a lower clock speeds than the GeForce 7600 generation of cards. So it seems that NVIDIA is expanding their range of products once again to please each budget as much as possible. However, it all remains to be seen how this will turn out for the end users. We will try to get some specifications for you. - The Inquirer
NVIDIA's GeForce 7900 GS, 7500 GT graphics cards
NVIDIA has quietly released a new GeForce 7900 class graphics chip. The company's web site now lists the GeForce 7900 GS, and Dell has just updated the built-to-order options for its XPS 600 gaming machine to include cards based on the GPU. Like other GeForce 7900's, the GS features a 256-bit memory bus that, in this case, connects to 256MB of GDDR3 memory. The GPU's a 90nm part with 20 pixel processors, down from the 24 available on the GeForce 7900 GT's. Presumably it has lower memory and core clock frequencies too. When the card hits the retail market we can expect to see a retail price around $200-250.
