Most of us who know enough about computers to build one, must have had one of these requests thrown at us one time or another. I've had a friend recently who asked me to build him a PC with a mid-range budget. Mostly used for gaming, he has a rather tight budget of about $750. That leaves me with about $130 for the graphics card, the first obstacle I should tackle since this was going to be gamed on quite a lot. I searched for a solution in the Inno3D GeForce 7300 GT 256MB with GDDR3 memory... The box is the same as the initial version which featured DDR2 memory, but comes with just a small sticker to clarify it comes with the high performance GDDR3 memory. - VR-Zone
Inno3D GeForce 7300 GT 256MB PCI-E Review
A quite standard box that features the mid-range GeForce 7300 GT graphics card with 256MB GDDR3 memory. A very simple package bundle, nothing too sweet at all, save the fact that this bare minimum approach by Inno3D drives down the cost for the consumers. The Inno3D GeForce 7300 GT is build around the G73, and comes clocked at 500MHz core and 1400MHz memory speed. The G73 core, at 90nm process is the same chip that is also powering the NVIDIA GeForce 7600 series. Quite a worthwhile buy just looking at the memory, 256MB of these rather high-speed Samsung 1.4ns rated memory.
Yeah, the Inno3D GeForce 7300 GT also has the SLI connector. While some GeForce 7300 GT's do not come with an SLI bridge connector as the GeForce 7300 GT cards are capable of running SLI without the need for a bridge. For a simple straightforward overclock, I installed RivaTuner and set the fan to run at full speed and pulled the clocks up to 630MHz core and 1900MHz memory. With some extra hardware modifications on the voltages, we could even get the card up to 672MHz core and 1912MHz memory speed. We can't really complain with this free performance boost.
So my job was nearly done. I've found a graphics card that plays most games at an acceptable resolution with high quality settings, within the $90 prison cell walls. The 128MB version of the Inno3D GeForce 7300 GT does come very close in performance with the 256MB variant, but so do the prices. For the $25 difference I would personally spend it on the 256MB version, unless I'm really caged within a smaller budget. With the money spent on this card, most game aholics will be quite pleased with the gaming experience it can offer. No fancy bundle, no fancy cooler, but the card reels in a big-time money per frame rate.
