Final Thoughts While we were not able to test both the Barracuda AC-1 Gaming Audio Card in conjunction with the Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones, our experience was still excellent with our analog sound card. Razer's digital solution promises even more sonic purity with both audio components used together, however the HP-1 Gaming Headphones perform excellent with our on-board audio sub-system of the motherboard we tested. After several speaker configurations we found the sweet spot configuration and dialed in the graphical equalizer to suite our listening needs and ended up with a very formable set of headphones. Game play was brought to new levels using the Razer Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones. Frag rates went up within hours of playing with the headphones, due to the fact we were able hear much more of whats going on at lower sound levels. Gamers who like FPS titles will fall in love with these headphones. Our experience with FPS games like Battlefield 2 Special Forces using these headphones was absolutely great. The 3D audio positioning works great giving the gamer a full surround effect with the capability to hear a 360 degree expanded audio environment. Helicopters can now be heard hovering around you in all directions giving you the sense of direction of that object without even laying eyes on it. Now you can figure out where the enemy is just by sound alone and all this can be done in the privacy of these headphones at extremely low volume levels. Razer has put out a great product with the Razer Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones. These headphones perform very well with our sound system and will sound even better when used with the Barracuda AC-1 Gaming Audio Card. We didn't have any real way to test these headphones other than personally use them for the last couple of weeks and everyone who uses them can all agree that these head phones add a new level of excitement to any game title. Not only that but these headphones can give you a huge advantage over any stereo headphones. If you are serious about gaming then you will want to add these headphones to you're arsenal. Our experience with the Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones was outstanding. The Razer Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones are rugged and should stand up to the rigors of intense gaming. Our sample took quite a beating and still performed like new. We managed to test the headphones using various speaker settings and came up with several different signal processes that allowed us to enjoy both MP3 audio and excellent surround sound gaming. Razer provides the tools, the rest is up to you.
