PC Perspective comes with a review on the XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX Edition graphics card. NVIDIA's GeForce 7 series of GPU's has probably been their most successful lineup in several years. Starting with the GeForce 7800 GTX launched in June 2005 and working its way up to the March 2006 launch of the GeForce 7900 GTX, GT and GeForce 7600 GT cards. In nearly every instance, NVIDIA was able to deliver a card that was not only better performing than what ATI had available for a similar price, but was able to have retail availability on, or nearly on, the launch date of the product. This resulted in some of the first industry hard launches that allowed enthusiasts to buy the products the very same day that the reviews hit the web.
XFX GeForce 7600 GT 256MB XXX Edition Review
XFX has been along side NVIDIA as a loyal video card partner the entire time. Their graphics cards have made numerous appearances on our website and were always met a positive end result. They recently sent over their XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX Edition graphics card that promises to bring great gaming performance to a crowd that can't afford the $600 cards but might be able to shell out around $200. In XFX land, the XXX Edition moniker probably doesn't stand for what you think. The XXX Edition name has been saved for those cards in the XFX line that offer the consumer the highest overclocked speeds over reference clock rates.
The core and memory clocks on the XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX Edition card are overclocked above the reference speeds that NVIDIA set during the GPU's initial launch. Our XFX model is running with a 590MHz core clock and a 1600MHz memory clock in comparison to the 560MHz core and 1400MHz memory reference speeds. The XFX GeForce 7600 GT card does not require the use of any extra power as there is no power connection on the rear of the card. Instead, NVIDIA's GeForce 7600 GT GPU's can get all the juice they need from the PCI Express bus. The card also comes with the familiar SLI connection.
The XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX Edition video card looks to offer a great gaming experience for the mid-range price levels. Does that warrant a purchase with your hard earned cash? With a price hovering around $175 for the XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX Edition, you get a lifetime warranty and overclocked speeds. Not a bad deal if you ask us. There doesn't appear to be any shortage of these cards, so you can actually just go out and pick up one of these excellent XFX GeForce 7600 GT video cards. As for support, XFX does offer limited phone support as well as email and forum support on their website.
The XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX Edition graphics card offers gamers a solid gaming experience at a price well under $200. Though it is not the cheapest GeForce 7600 GT card on the market, it is one of the least expensive to offer both an overclocked configuration and a lifetime warranty on the product. XFX has been gaining in reputation among the top-tier NVIDIA partners as both a friend of the enthusiast and one to push the envelope. If you are looking for a great mid-range card to power your gaming system the XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX Edition fits the bill perfectly.
