Up Close, Looking at Details Now that the butterfly effect has been uncovered, we can have a look at the different features of the Spire Pininfarina case a bit more in detail. As Spire stands for excellent product with a high focus on innovation and perfect cooling solutions, we should be able to find out what that means on the Pininfarina case. As Spire is known for their decent cooling techniques, we will first see a bit on what has been done on that aspect and move towards the innovation initiatives while we go along.
As you might have spotted the Pininfarina comes with side panels that allow ventilation via the side raster openings. On both side panels that build up the butterfly effect you can find strategically place rounded ventilation openings. At each of these Spire has either opted to already pre-install a fan or has foreseen a way to easily place a fan if required. Somehow Spire has put the fans according to their own logic of best practice, but allowing users to customize and add extra fans. At each spot throughout the interior of the case where some installation can be performed, you will find quick install explanation sticker.
Yeah of course, you will find extra documentation as well. Spire has included a User Manual to explain a bit more in detail the different features and installations possible with their Pininfarina case. The User Manual is however quite limited as it is build out of a one pager folded to a smaller size as shown. But that doesn't mean it is bad in any way, in contrary it explain quite well the different installation parts and this in 12 different languages. So each of us should be able to work with these guidelines to get it installed in no time.
Spire also went a step further on one area many case makers ignore…the instructions. As mentioned, not only did they include a short, but easily readable assembly sheet, directions for hardware installation are also printed on stickers located in key points inside the case. High class, indeed, and a very welcome addition. These particular stickers show you how to remove and reinstall the various aspects of the Pininfarina case. Certainly a quite welcome approach, as who does check the User Manual when upgrade a component? Well, yeah maybe a few would and others would have a hard time finding back that piece of paper. So those handy stickers are much appreciated!
Since one of the main features of this case is the ability to keep things nice and cool it no surprise to find another 80mm fan located at the rear of case which along with the power supply will help remove any warm air that resides inside the case. And you will find some areas where Spire has foreseen the ability to add a cooling fan, next to what is already provide as default. This comes in very handy for those with overclocking in mind which would require extra ventilation and extra airflow. One those particular areas is actually on the enforce bar that will hold the graphics card in place and can be equipped with an extra fan. Sounds like an ideal location when thinking of the heat generated by those dual-GPU solutions provided by both ATI and NVIDIA with their corresponding CrossFire and SLI technology.
