Introduction

Indeed, this isn't the first time we look into a product from Spire. But it is the first time we look at a computer case from Spire. Their focus is to build on the current success of the Spire brand so that the brand is recognized world wide as a provider of top quality cooling solutions. Spire continues to work to maintain the satisfaction of customers and share the knowledge of experts to provide their customers with the perfect cooling solution. With today's high-speed processors functioning at an unprecedented speed and output, the demand for better and more reliable cooling solutions has become one of the most important issues in the computer industry today.

Spire has joined forces with world renowned designer Pininfarina to develop and introduce a truly unique state-of-the-art chassis to technology enthusiasts and professionals worldwide. Pininfarina, most acclaimed for the Ferrari and Maserati, has fashioned a revolutionary case that has transformed the traditionally vapid PC case into a sophisticated and aerodynamic PC power house. The exclusive Spire Pininfarina chassis was designed with functionality, creativity and opulent style in mind. With a curved case by an Italian sports car designer, the Spire Pininfarina looks great, without crossing over into geek territory.

The Spire Pininfarina is a mid sized ATX tower case designed by the Pininfarina group. Pininfarina has a long and distinguished history of designing some breathtaking high end sports cars. Although this time the Pininfarina design skills were requested to come up with a stylish computer case, and so they did. Decent, though cool and sleep design with quite some features that make this an interesting products to say the least. But did Pininfarina make the ultimate computer case? There's only one way to find out and is to dig a bit deeper...

The Spire Pininfarina arrived in a big black cardboard box. Sure it is a fairly large box but what would you expect for a computer case? Immediately a large image of the Pininfarina presents itself on the right hand side with some text on the left. The box is mostly black and has a nice feel to it. A good package to protect the enclosed aluminum stylish PC case. The box reveals quite in detail of what is enclosed, so you won't be surprised to find a designer case inside.

Let us put the focus on the front of the Spire package and the paperboard box. As already mentioned the Pininfarina logo is clearly shown at the top. Just below the logo is some brief information about the computer case. What most of us will like is the silent factor and tool-less design. It is made out of 6.0mm aluminum alloy, which by the way is a bit misleading because the weight of this box suggests a solid steel case. Next to all that it also comes with some extreme cooling, at least that is what is stated on the box as marketing lines.

The rear of the carton highlights the key features of the case in a bit more words than what you could see from the front side. Such things as the butterfly case design which is perhaps one of the coolest features of the unit, along with the fact that the case also has the thickest aluminum used in any case. At the side it shows handy carrying handles and the selection of colors available. And yes we gotten the silver/grey version of the Spire Pininfarina case to check and use. Currently the Pininfarina case comes in four different colors going from black to grey to blue. The version is somehow more popular, and that is mainly why there are two blue editions available.
