Final Thoughts

Mushkin has put out a very competitive product. Its fine tuned PCB hand select components and circuitry gives Mushkin that edge that enthusiasts seek in high performance ram. The overclocking head room is outstanding and will hold its 2-2-2-5 up to a 220MHz FSB on our configuration. While it maintained a 2-4-4-8, 1:1 ratio up to 240MHz FSB! Thats very tight for those speeds for that data rate. The access and strobe clock is very fast and stable, it offers better performance at lower timings and its very important to keep the lowest CAS# for the best overclocking performance.

Fastest overclock was 14 x 250MHz FSB which totals 3.5GHz, however the system was unstable and we found the sweet spot for high performance and excellent stability was a overclock of 14 x 233MHz (3.26GHz). That's still a good size overclock at an extra 400MHz. So we can say that the ram was operating efficiently at a 1:1 ratio. We tried 3:4 and some other ratios but this was the best bench configuration we got so this is what we ran with.

The Mushkin LII V2 PC3200 is a fantastic product and deserves the credit its receiving as the price is ultra competitive and its performance is better than most. Its rated at PC3200 or DDR400, however the chipset used is also capable of running at DDR500, so this 1GB kit Dual Channel kit is a real high performance setup and should be considered on the short list of anyones agenda.
