NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GX2 to hit the streets at €600
Written by Mavke
Wednesday, 31 May 2006
The Inquirer managed to confirmed that NVIDIA plans to sell its GeForce 7950 GX2 cards for the suggested retail price of €599. We are talking about European prices, of course, but the US ones should be same, just in dollars. Naturally, some greedy retailers in certain countries will sell those cards for more. We confirmed that NVIDIA set its suggested price to drive these cards below the €600 level. ATI is hoping that NVIDIA will end up with short supply of those cards but we also hear that there might be more of these cards than we originally anticipated. We just hope NVIDIA learned from their shortages experienced in the recent paste events.

NVIDIA is still being mysterious about its retail card review program as we know it advised a few people to hold their fingers over a bunch of reviews. Partners have been advised not to make big noise about it yet, we hear. We would suggest that NVIDIA wants to polish the drivers and we can't blame them for that. NVIDIA brands GeForce 7950 GX2 card as a single card that will compete directly with ATI's Radeon X1900 XTX cards. We think NVIDIA has a great chance with these cards. Smart, but expensive the chippery will likely get NVIDIA what it wants the most, the ultimate performance crown.
