Bona Fide Reviews brings us their review on the HIS Radeon X1800 GTO IceQ3 Turbo PCIe graphics card. After looking at Connect3D's Radeon X1800 GTO, it's HIS' turn with their new Radeon X1800 GTO Turbo. This card features HIS' brand new IceQ3 cooling solution and comes overclocked right out of the box. Being a part of HIS' Turbo line this card has received a default overclocked speed of 520MHz core with the memory speed remaining the same. Why the amount of 520MHz was chosen is unknown but it seems like a small enough jump to be a pretty safe overclock without straining the card too much. Plus with the heavy duty IceQ3 cooler, overheating the card is hardly a worry.
HIS Radeon X1800 GTO IceQ3 Turbo PCI-E Review
The HIS Radeon X1800 GTO Turbo comes packaged in an attractive newly styled box. In the top right corner of the box we find the illustrious Turbo sticker. The sticker marks this card as a part of HIS' turbo line of cards that come pre-overclocked right out of the box. This is not to be confused with the HIS cards that belong to the iTurbo line. Those cards come with HIS overclocking software that enable the card to be overclocked with a single click. As you can see this Radeon X1800 GTO features a core speed of 520MHz making it 20MHz faster than the average GTO card.
The HIS Radeon X1800 GTO Turbo is an excellent piece of hardware. HIS has really stepped up with this card and did more than just the minimum of releasing the card. They went in and overclocked the card right out of the box, stripped off the small single slot cooler and replaced it with their brand new and quite impressive IceQ3 cooler, and included their normal array of software and accessories. We really like to see manufacturer's create a product that stands above the crowd; HIS did just that with their Radeon X1800 GTO Turbo. If one is brave enough, they can attempt to flash this GTO into a Radeon X1800 XL.
