ICY BOX Lightning...

To wrap it all up, I couldn't just leave without getting some impressions on the blue lighting feature of the RaidSonic ICY BOX. So I tried to capture it as good as possible, although it looks much better than on the images provided. But it should give you some idea...

Yeah, you must know by now that I am really in favor of these blue LED's and lighting. So if you are just like me, then this external storage solution is definately something for you. The stylish ICY BOX just has it all, good looks, excellent performance and the blueish glow that I like so much! Great stuff RaidSonic!

Final Thoughts

The RaidSonic ICY BOX IB-360UE-BL is a great external enclosure. Its elegant looks and simplistic design should not deter an end user from considering a purchase. The ICY BOX has perfectly acceptable performance either connected via USB 2.0 or FireWire. The ability to just connect the unit, power on and access those key files at a reasonable transfer speed certainly is excellent. In the giant sea of new, affordable external hard disk enclosures, the ICY BOX stands out due to its appearance and ease of use.

The ICY BOX enclosure is a very easy way of creating an external hard disk drive, either to increase storage space or to create a portable drive that can be taken with the user. Installation is very easy and is just a case of connecting a few cables and connections to the hard disk and computer system. With the different versions of the ICY BOX available, a user can choose the one that suits their system via the best manner or for speed requirements.

Overall the RaidSonic ICY BOX is a quick, cheap and great way of creating external storage. It is the best looking model I have seen thus far... If you move a lot of data between machines where a network connection just isn't practical, or have an old hard drive knocking around that is no longer used, pick up one of these and enjoy some inexpensive, very fast removable mass storage. You may not know it yet, but you really do need one!
