Spire Corporation

Introduction

We gotten introduced to Spire and their strategic and focus towards quality cooling solutions some time ago. Spire is no stranger when it comes to cooling solutions and definitely has the knowledge to create and supply decent cooling products. With today's high-speed processors functioning at an unprecedented speed and output, the demand for better and more reliable cooling solutions has become one of the most important issues in the computer industry today. As a premier manufacturer of high quality cooling solutions, Spire is able to meet the demands of the computer industry by providing competitively priced products and lifetime warranty.

Just recently we had the opportunity to check out a CPU cooler offered by Spire for the Intel processors using the older socket 478. This time around, we're taking a close look at one of their new creations, the VertiCool II CPU heatpipe cooler. The Spire VertiCool II CPU cooler is specifically designed for high performance applications and is designed for both the AMD and Intel processors. It uses vertical dual heatpipes to transport heat away from the CPU. The concept of heatpipes has become quite interesting for any cooling application. Spire has adopted this technology to build a new range of high performance CPU coolers, and the VertiCool II cooler fits perfectly into that picture.

The Spire VertiCool II CPU cooler comes in a colorful retail box with printed text and pictures on all sides. The box clearly displays which Spire model is enclosed and gives a list of features. Not much box hype on this one, just the basics as it is. A good package to protect the enclosed items. The box on its own is fancy enough to attract potential buyers. Of course the most important is what is included within the Spire package...

As already mentioned, the packaging is pretty basic with a few details about Spire as well as the VertiCool II cooler itself. The main features are listed on one side and on the other side it lists what is included in the package. The remaining of the box is kept simple though professional. The box itself looks good, feels good and that are the main things that a buyer will go for when checking out the different solution available at the local computer shop.

Features

Turning the box around shows us the back side of the package that comes with some installation details. These are quite limited, but installing a CPU cooler should be quite easy process. I guess that's all about the box, but not all about the VertiCool II cooler. This package design is evidently aimed at the retail market. So let's open up the package and find out more.

Nice and tight. A well thought positioning of the VertiCool II CPU cooler, facing upwards with the blueish fan. At the top, when opening the box, we found a more detailed manual, giving details for both Intel and AMD installation procedures. All items of the bundle are well placed and can't move around in the box. The main item that attracts our attention is of course the heatsink itself.
