Enhanced Performance Results Since the OCZ EB PC-4000 Platinum Edition line is specifically built for high performance enthusiasts we are going to see how much performance these memory modules can deliver. We will start this of by sticking to the 200MHz FSB and start lowering the memory timings. Doing so we reached some very aggressive memory timings of 2-3-3-5 which are not even that common for DDR400 designed memory modules. These tweaked timings should the Platinum Edition ram to spill out some extra performance.
Float Copy Results So now that we are on the tweaked memory latency for any DDR400 memory, we can have the better results for using these Platinum Edition memory sticks at 200MHz FSB. The memory timings have been set manually on the mainboard BIOS to 2-3-3-5 and that results in a score of 2676MB/s on average for the Float Copy results. This is around 55MB/s increase over the 3-3-2-7 timings used before by just aligning the latency. Not a major increase, but that can be explained due to enhanced bandwidth optimization technology that comes with the memory modules.
Float Scale Results On the next results for the Float Scale part we see an increase of performance up to 2732MB/s on average which is an increase of about 55MB/s as well. As you can see from the results, the timings on the memory sticks are important towards how these perform. The lower the latencies, the better responsiveness and better performance we can expect. Although it is minor on the OCZ EB PC-4000 Platinum Edition dual channel memory.
Float Add Results Continuing on our results we have arrived to the Float Add results of the OCZ EB DDR500 Platinum Edition memory modules. By applying the 2-3-3-5 timings we see an average of 2873MB/s, which a status quo as to the non tweaked latencies. So at 200MHz FSB the new adapted latencies are not really paying off on this part of the benchmark. Although the maximum has increased slightly to 3149MB/s; setting a new high score.
Float Triad Results Finally we have the Float Triad results that have remained about the same, around 2877MB/s on average which is a status quo by applying tighter timings. We can also spot that the minimum and maximum levels are quite matching up and don't have that much gap in between. This adds up to having very stable operation with the Platinum Edition modules. Once again the maximum bandwidth has gone up a bit.
These OCZ EB PC-4000 Platinum Edition ram modules are performing at extreme levels. Operating at 200MHz FSB these ram sticks just blew us away by there stability and enhanced bandwidth. So if you are looking for some high performance memory modules at DDR400 speed levels then just think about these OCZ EB PC-4000 Platinum Edition sticks as they perform as fast, or in most cases faster than any other DDR400 dual channel memory kit. Quite impressive to say the least!
