Enhanced Performance Results

The Ballistix Tracer line of memory kits is designed to please all performance enthusiasts and extreme gamers, so in that light it would only be right to put these to some more extensive benchmarking. We leave the bus speed at 200MHz and will be lowering the timings as much as possible. Doing so we reached some very aggressive memory timings of 2-2-2-5 which are not even that common for DDR400 designed memory modules.

Float Copy Results

Having set the Tracer modules at tight timings we ran our benchmarks suite to see what performance these deliver. The memory timings have been set manually on the mainboard BIOS to 2-2-2-5 and that results in an awesome score of 2777MB/s on average for the Float Copy results. This is around 260MB/s increase over the 2.5-3-3-8 timings used before by just aligning the latency.

Float Scale Results

On the next results for the Float Scale part we see an increase of performance up to 2842MB/s on average which is an increase of about 265MB/s. As you can see from the results, the timings on the memory sticks are very important toward how these perform. The lower the latencies, the better responsiveness and better performance we can expect.

Float Add Results

Going further on our results we arrived on the Float Add results for the Tracer DDR500 dual channel kit. By manually setting the 2-2-2-5 timings we see an average of 3133MB/s and improvement of 335MB/s. So at 200MHz HTT the new adapted latencies are paying of quite well and lift these Crucial memory sticks to a higher level.

Float Triad Results

Finally we have the Float Triad results that have gone up to about 3135MB/s on average which is a boost of 325MB/s by just applying more optimized timings. We can also spot that the minimum and maximum levels are quite matching up and don't have that much gap in between. This adds up to having very stable operation with the Ballistix modules.

These Ballistix Tracer PC-4000 ram modules are performing at extreme levels. Operating at 200MHz HTT these ram sticks just blew us away by there stability and performance. So if you are looking for some decent memory modules at DDR400 speed levels then just think about these Crucial PC-4000 sticks as they perform as fast as, or in most cases faster then any other DDR400 dual channel memory kit. These Tracer memory line by Crucial is just awesome!
