The EVGA SuperClock Package Well I guess it's time to crank open the package received from EVGA which includes the e-GeForce 7800 GS CO SuperClock graphics card. The main part and weight of the package comes from the video card itself but next to that EVGA also includes some extra components. The box as we mentioned already before is quite nice and stylish, the EVGA graphics card on the other hand does look very impressive. So let's dig into the package and find out what EVGA has included.
You can say what you want but EVGA has certainly made a colorful package with their e-GeForce 7800 GS series. Next to the GeForce 7800 GS graphics card you some extra items in the package. These will come in handy when installing or finding our some more details on the video card itself and what you can expect. Components - EVGA e-GeForce 7800 GS Board
- EVGA Driver Installation CD with Trial Software
- DVI to VGA Adapter
- 4-pin "Y" Power Cable
- S-Video Cable
- EVGA User's Guide
- EVGA Sticker Pack
- Warranty/Registration Card

What we discovered first in the box was the User's Guide; this is a small paper map which included the EVGA manual. The User's Guide is well designed and informative though not really that extensive. Although who cares about a big User's Guide when purchasing a graphics card? Where it comes down to is the actual performance. Next to the User's Guide we found the Installation CD and some EVGA case stickers.
So what else have we found? We found two cables, a 4-pin split power cable and an S-Video cable. The 4-pin molex split cable is very useful for those who ran out of power cables. EVGA has made sure that they are including it with their SuperClock package. The S-Video cable is shielded which will add up to the image quality in the end. And lastly there is the DVI to VGA adapter. This might be useful when using a dual screen setup as the e-GeForce 7800 GS comes with a DVI connection and VGA connection. After having gone through all the accessories that came with the EVGA package it is time to have a look at the graphics card itself, namely the e-GeForce 7800 GS CO SuperClock. As already mentioned this is no ordinary GeForce 7800 GS card but a SuperClock edition. So what does that mean? Well it means that EVGA did some work on its own to see what these G70 chips can do that NVIDIA has reserved for the AGP version of the GeForce 7800 series. This resulted in an overclocked version of the standard e-GeForce 7800 GS.
Where it comes down to for NVIDIA is the fact that there is still a big market out there of users who are still working with an AGP based system. And since NVIDIA isn't the top performer on the AGP scale, it had to come with something to knock down the king of the hill. And that is the Radeon X850 XT video card from ATI. By releasing a GeForce 7 based card they have done just that. However EVGA went just one step further and made sure they had something even better to please the audience and that by all means is the e-GeForce 7800 GS CO SuperClock edition. Time to dig deeper into this exciting piece of hardware!
