High Performance Results
And yes we finally arrived to the stage where it all comes down
to. The Crucial Ballistix
have been designed to be used at 250MHz HTT, so we are going to use these ram
sticks and start to overclock our Intel P4 3.0GHz Prescott processor and see how
well these perform. We once again let the mainboard BIOS take care of selecting
the default memory timings. By doing so the latency has reported as 2.5-4-4-8 at
250MHz HTT and our CPU is running at 3.75GHz! We will check on how the Ballistix
memory will do on our benchmarks.

Float Copy Results
By having set the FSB at 250MHz the Crucial memory is now running at
500MHz DDR which they have been intended for. This results in an awesome
performance level of around 3004MB/s on the Float Copy results. This is
certainly again a nice increase over the enhanced performance we have seen so
far with an increase of about 250MB/s.

Float Scale Results
The Float Scale results are going taking the same approach and are
reaching 3073MB/s on average with a peak of 3381MB/s. Again we get a decent
boost of around 250MB/s over the previous results at very tight timings on
200MHz HTT. So a higher bus speed does a lot but still the timings needs to be
good to get the job done. And that is where Crucial does deliver top notch performance.

Float Add Results
Onto the Float Add results and we can just draw the line further
as also here we see a nice increase of 250MB/s which brings the average to
3263MB/s. We would like to point out that the difference between minimum and
maximum is very decent. So no complains on this at all!

Float Triad Results
And to end it all we have the Float Triad results which show as
well an improvement and clock an average of 3264MB/s with a comparable increase
as we are getting used to. Once again the Ballistix memory has proven to be damn
fast and stable.

The Crucial
Ballistix just have it all, they did put down an excellent score at a bus speed
of 200MHz with the ability of very tight memory latency and on top of that when
they are used at the speed they are rated for they outperform all that. With
these DDR500 ram sticks you get nothing less then the best performance in both
environments, either at 200MHz HTT or at 250MHz HTT this memory just has it all.
These Crucial memory modules
really do deserve their name, Ballistix they are!
