The Inquirer managed to snag some of the distributor prices for the upcoming Radeon X1900 cards. And we can now confirm that the official name of the new All-In-Wonder card is the All-In-Wonder X1900 PCIe 256MB. It does not come as a huge surprise and this card will support 256MB only. It would be very hard to put the whole 512MB together with two TV tuners on this rather packed card. You should be able to buy it for about $529, although we are talking about distributor prices here. Suggested retail prices could end up a little higher, but that we will only be able to discover in the future.

The Radeon X1900 CrossFire Edition PCIe 512MB card is priced at $650 and again we are talking about the big distributors' price. It should not cost much more in retail either. The second fastest Radeon X1900, the XT PCIe 512MB card is listed at $604 while the fastest Radeon X1900 XTX PCIe 512MB is listed for $74. We can see that this huge (and un-named) distributor wants to make hay while the sun shines, as we understand that ATI's suggested retail prices are set to be lower than that.
ATI is playing a dangerous price game, not unlike what rival NVIDIA tried on with its GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB, with the exception that ATI will be able to ship enough of the cards from the day one. We have to thank to our friends' sharp eyes that have spotted those nasty high prices. Oh yes, those cards could be much cheaper but, as NVIDIA's sales executive likes to say: the price is not too high if people want to pay for it. You have to hand it to him.
