Overclocking Projects published a review on the Asus V9999GE. The V9999GE utilizes the GeForce 6800 GPU, has 256MB of GDDR3, and comes with enough bells and whistles to make a one-man marching band jealous. Without getting into the details, this is a rather unorthodox card as it combines the vanilla 6800 Graphics processor with features/functions that are usually only found on the 6800GT and/or 6800Ultra.
Asus V9999GE Review
The Asus V9999GE is a really complete package. That is one of the things I really love about it. Besides all of its great overclocking enhancing properties
(like how much in common it has with it GTs and Ultras) you have a lot of stuff that you can fool around with as soon as you get the card. The webcam really adds a nice level of value, and the software that uses it (GameFace and Video Security) is just icing on the cake. I would like to think that other manufacturers are very closely watching what Asus, an industry leader, is doing. They are diversifying their products by adding features specific to their card(s) because they know that a lot of manufacturers will be using essentially the same technology (the same GPUs etc.). The only way to make a product stand out to the point where a customer will choose it over another brand is by adding features to make your product more lucrative. I think that with the V9999GE, Asus have achieved a higher standard and a lot of other manufacturers should be taking notes. |
