The Cool-Matic NV45 Continued...

Having a single slot water cooling solution allows us to have a single slot water cooled GeForce 6800 Ultra. Needless to say we have 4 manufacturers involved with these cards, NVIDIA, EVGA, PNY Technologies and Innovatek. Amazing to see the help and collaboration between these providers, PNY supplied the Ultra and EVGA gave us the single slot brackets. So in order to make these cards a true single slot design, we had to hit up our friends over at EVGA.

Yip thats right! EVGA supplied the single slot brackets we needed and now we have honest to god GeForce 6800 Ultra's in single slot format. Big deal right? Well if your fanatical about your hobby as we are, then you to will go for the small attention to details thats makes things stand out and since Wade over at EVGA answered our prayers on our request, it just sweetened the deal! And this is just another reason why EVGA is a cut above the rest.

One card down, one to go! The EVGA single slot dual DVI brackets fit like a charm. Now we can finish up both cards and get the ready for an all out assault on the latest gaming titles. First we will install the last bracket and go over the cards and visual inpsect every attachment point, surface mating areas and anything we screwed together to make absolute sure everything is flat and square to each other.

Good thing we checked the cards, we had a few screws that needed additional fastening. The thermal paste we are using is settling down and creating play. Which reminds me once again folks, when playing with water cooling you mist re-tighten the blocks because after a few thermal cycles. The blocks will flatten out the thermal paste and loosen up, so make sure you snug those cards after a few good game titles.

Done deal! Here we have two GeForce 6800 Ultra's on Cool-Matic blocks with single slot dual DVI brackets waiting for a good home. But first we have a little extra surprise to show you. Ever have a water cooled hard drive? Did you think it was possible? Well check this out...
