The Innovatek Build Up Continued...

We cracked open the Innovatek Protect IP and mixed 3:1 distilled water and Protect IP. We used a water bottle for convenience and mixed up our coolant and charge the system. The Eheim HPPS immediately began to prime itself sending coolant through the water tube circuits. Just keep pouring as long as the pump is eating the coolant and then you will see the back flow build up in the reservoir indicating the system charging is near complete.

We used an over the counter drinking water container for system charging. After washing the bottle with distilled water, we added the 3:1 mixture with a ratio of three parts distilled water, to one part InnovatekProtect IP. What we did was fill the reservoir with coolant and then powered up the pump. Once the pumped kicked in, it sucked up the coolant and we immediately started pouring the coolant into the reservoir to keep the pump pushing coolant. Depending on your configuration you may want to use a funnel and or a different charging method. This worked for us without any issues.

With the pump running, we will let the cooling system bleed off air bubbles, while doing so you will here strange noises coming from the pump, this is cause by the pockets of air that are running through the system and when the reservoir becomes low on coolant. In our case a system charge will cause noises until the system is air free.

Now is a great time to start inspecting each of the compression fittings throughout the entire circuit. I hand tightened the fittings once again to make certain we are leak free and the system is water tight. Paying special attention to the video cards, since there are over a dozen joints, we want to make absolutely sure we have no issues or leakage. So for the next couple of hours I will let the pump push the coolant throughout the circuits and look for any signs leakage.

Actually its been about 4 hours since I first started up the pump. So far so good, no signs of leaking or anything that suggests an issue. One thing I noticed right away is how quiet the pump is, this is my first experience with Eheim and I must say these pumps are starting to impress me more and more. The 12 volt 4-pin power connector is choice and allows for easy integration into any rig. With great performance, long life span, easy installation, ultra low noise, this pump is definitely worthy of Innovatek's cooling systems. Now we will get up close and personal with the system.
