The Innovatek Build Up Continued... With the major components installed into the Thermaltake Armor case, we can begin the tube circuit. General rule of thumb with water cooling circuitry is to cool the hottest component last. According to our thermal readings this will be the GPU's so they will get cooled off last within our circuit. In order according to our system, our circuit will go from head of pump to the hard drives, then on to the CPU and last but not least the SLI GeForce 6800 Ultra's and then off to the radiator.
Making the first connection is always easier said than done. With that in mind it pays to sit back and look at the system and ponder the circuit configuration prior to cutting the tubes. Once you cut a certain tube length you can’t go back if you screw up, unless you got enough tubing. Our point here is to pre-configure the tube circuits in thought, then install it once you are satisfied with your judgment. Our first connection will go from the pump outlet to the HDD.
Since I pre-configured the circuits on the graphics cards all we have to do now is run a new circuit from the HDD to the CPU. Then we will set up the circuit from the CPU to the graphics cards and on to the twin 12 cm dual core radiator assembly. At this point it's just a matter of adding a final tube to the Reservoir to complete the circuit.
This is the complete water cooling circuit. The system is now plumbed up and ready for a pressure test. Now is a good time to go over the tubes and double check each and every compression fitting in the circuit! Do not use wrenches or pliers to tighten the Cool-Matic water spigots or the compression fittings. This will cause un-necessary torque and failure of the o-rings and the tubes that are over compressed. Time to add the coolant!
