Over Clocking

What we decided to do was, start at default and work our way up using a 1:1 divider by simply bouncing the HTT up as high as it will go. For this test we will load up CPU-Z v1.30 and give you some feed back on what to expect and what are configuration will run at. Here is a totally stock setup:

The OCZ PC-3200 1024MB Gold GX XTC Edition held its latencies up until a HTT of 240 MHz, in order to get any higher I had to relax the timing to 3-3-3-8 and was able to get to a HTT of 245 MHz, but the system became unstable, so I decided to ad a little Voltage to the CPU and see if we can get that stable, so with a 1.5 volt Winchester I got another MHz out of the deal, thats when I decided to put the Gold GX XTC Edition at 2.9 Volts and see where we get. Take a look...

This is the highest over clock I could get with this ram and thats fast to say the least. While we seen better over clocks with the Platinum series, the Gold GX XTC Edition is built for gamers in mind who want excellent peformance and stability while on moderate over clocks. The Gold GX XTC Edition is one heck of a dual channel kit and with its awesome looks and performance, I dont see a need to take this ram out of the system!

Final Thoughts

The OCZ PC-3200 1024MB Gold GX XTC Edition gives us Platinum Series performance at Gold Series prices at DDR-400 using a stock HTT of 200MHz. We are seeing 2048MB kits evolving into ultra low latency speed demons and the Gold GX XTC Edition gives us a super bang for the buck. The Gold GX XTC Edition is rock steady and totally stable for all our game titles tested, not one blue screen or lagish type issues with these bad boys, the games ran near flawless.

Our tests conclude that the Gold GX XTC Edition has the muscle and performance to power through today and tomorrow's game titles and applications. This is one hot product! The speeds are amazing the stability is rock steady and gives ultra aggressive latencies for ultra fast gaming performance. Battlefield 2 Special Forces v1.12 runs like a champ using the OCZ PC-3200 1024MB Gold GX XTC Edition and with our configuration we reduced out swap file load down to 10% based on our back ground tasks and running processes.

The OCZ PC-3200 1024MB Gold GX XTC Edition is a keeper! This ram kicks butt and rocks today’s game titles with blistering speed that increases the experience and playability in today's game titles versus smaller capacity modules. Stuff the new Gold GX XTC Edition 2048MB Dual Channel kit and rock the competition. It's that simple! The large capacity we see here is just want today’s gamers need and with looks and performance of the OCZ PC-3200 1024MB Gold GX XTC Edition, who could go wrong?
