OC-Zone has reviewed a XFX GeForce 6800 GT. With the launch of GPU's as Radeon X800
XT PE and GeForce 6800 Ultra Extreme, we see immediately that the only cards
available on the market are the Radeon X800 Pro and GeForce 6800 GT. A great
problem that started to be well apparent is the low availability of 6800 Ultra
and X800 XT PE chips, and this exactly 6 months after the respective official
launch. In costs/performance terms this GeForce 6800 GT is a very appealing card
against the GeForce 6800 Ultra. Keeping the same characteristics as the top
GeForce 6800 Ultra but with a fast descending of the clock speed, the card has a
performance close to the GeForce 6800 Ultra.
XFX GeForce 6800 GT Review
The best thing about these GeForce 6800 GT cards is that these can be pulled to the GeFoce 6800 Ultra level, at least great part of them can do so. The only benefit to go for a GeForce 6800 Ultra instead of a GeForce 6800 GT is because of overclocking. Since the GeForce 6800 Ultra comes equipped with memories that support greater speeds and they also feature a 2nd power connection to pull more power and to be able to support the Ultra speeds.
As good as this XFX GeForce 6800 GT is on performance level, the product also needs to be attractive with a good bundle of software/games. Although here we see the lack of a certain game, however when we had finished of this review, XFX has included Doom 3 to the bundle included with the card. Without any doubt Doom 3 is a must have addition to this XFX GeForce 6800 GT. |
