HIS X800 GTO IceQ II Turbo & HIS X800 GT IceQ II Turbo

Both the HIS X800 GT and X800 GTO look indentical on the outside. However underneath the cores and and pixel pipelines will differ. Two months ago when we took a look at the HIS X800 GTO IceQ II Turbo, we discovered that our core was the R423. Today's specimen the HIS X800 GTO IceQ II Turbo sports the R480 as we talked about on the previous page.

We wanted to bring you the skinny on both cards and give you an idea of just how closely related these two cards are. You can spot the X800 GTO above based on the CrossFire Multi-GPU ready label. The X800 GT is on the bottom and otherwise looks exactly the same.

Let's turn em both around and see if we can spot anything different. Mmm, I don't know if you saw it or not, but I couldn't see any difference what so ever. The backplate is just the same and the surrounding components and PCB is identical so far.

Closing in towards the outputs of both card the only thing I saw is basically the identification stickers that are diferent. The rest looks just the same. So in fact the only main difference is what you can't see at first, which is the ATI GPU that has been used. The Radeon X800 GTO is build around the R480 core while the Radeon X800 GT came with the R423 core.
