HIS X800 GTO IceQ II Turbo The HIS X800 GTO IceQ II Turbo follows the mindset of the X800 GT from HIS. It is a good looking card with oustanding performance and comes in a dual slot design. The HIS X800 GTO comes with the IceQ II cooling system which is becoming a standard feature on the graphics card series by HIS.
The impressive HIS X800 GTO IceQ II Turbo just has it were it counts. Generally speaking we can say that HIS does make a difference on the graphics card market and this card will be no exception. The Radeon X800 GTO comes with a dual slot cooler which is actually covering the full PCB, just like the GT. Only the PCI-Express connection remains visible. To cover the transparant IceQ II cooling system, a blueish HIS graphics making sure we know it is made by HIS. On top of that the HIS X800 GTO also indicates that it is CrossFire ready.
The rear view on the other hand reveals more details on the PCB (Printed Circuit Board). A full view of the back side of the HIS X800 GTO show us that the backplate of the cooling solution which covers about 1/3 of the PCB, which is actually where the memory chips are located. These memory chips are actually clocked at 1GHz, so some proper cooling is certainly an added value.
A closer look at the cooling solution shows us that behind the transparant cover is a huge copper heatsink with fin surface to achieve the best cooling performance. But at the same time making sure the noise levels are not impacted. The IceQ II cooling technology or also known as Direct Heat Exhaust System facilitates excellent cooling characteristics by drawing air from inside the case and exhausts warm air outwards. This prevents the fan from recycling warm air to cool the VPU, which increases cooling performance and lowers the air temperature inside the case significantly.
That isn't all with the HIS X800 GTO. The HIS X800 GTO IceQ II Turbo comes with a VGA and DVI output, and as well a TV-out. HIS has not opted for a dual DVI on this card, which is kindy logic as this card is meant for the big public and not all have these monitors with a DVI input. Of course in time DVI will take over and so the Radeon X800 GTO has both analog and digital outlets available.
By quicky turning the HIS graphics card we also get a good view on the back of the card that is not covered by the backplate of the IceQ II cooling solution. This also gives another view on the outlet of the card and the soldered components on the back of the PCB. Features - R480 0.13um process
