Final Thoughts The Wicked Lasers Extreme Series - Phoenix 80mW DPSS green laser is an amazing laser. The beam is powerful and bright while providing one heck of a conversation piece. While testing in our lab, every one was amazed at how bright the pen was, they all wanted to play with it causing me to kick every one out of the testing area. Most laser modules and pointers consume a lot of battery power and the Phoenix is no exception, this device will eat batteries faster than advertised. Wicked claims approximately 2 hours, but we found the batteries would drop 50% output within 10 one minute bursts. The power draw is hefty with the battery testing was done based on one minute cycles and after 35 minutes our batteries where totally depleted and would no longer power the laser. Depending on the battery types used, there longevity and other factors, results may vary. The Wicked Lasers Phoenix is definitely one bad ass laser, even with the battery consumption, the laser draws a lot of attention and while not recommended as a novelty, the Phoenix rocks with amazing brightness and performance, we took it to the beach tried it out at night and the laser was so bright we had a crowd standing around asking "How much" and "Where can we get one". Everyone was amazed at its power, I felt like royalty instead of a journalist. On the technical aspects of the laser, we have determined the laser beam quality on our sample is average quality in the "greenie" segment, but this does not mean you are receiving an average laser, what this means is the beam emissions show fluctuations of approximately 4 nm from the 532 nm rating with spikes of up to 1070 nm. This simply means the wavelength has spiking in its frequencies. This is a result of manufacturing, quality control, lens, filter and crystal qualities. No two lasers are going to have the same operational parameters, having been said you can test and compare several laser modules of the same rating, same manufacturer, same assembly line and they will all have specific properties and beam characteristics. Lasers have a beam signature that differs from module to module, its almost like a finger print in that it is extremely rare that two identical modules will produce the same results. In the end, the Wicked Lasers Extreme Series are expensive to own, but then again when someone with the means and the money wants to buy something, the cost becomes irrelevant. It's definitely not going to be an item made for the general public as the cost and power alone will be in the hands of the elite few who wants one bad enough.

Here we can see the Wicked Lasers Extreme Series 80 mW laser pen burning a hole through electical tape. It is very common for these lasers to pop balloons and burn holes through selifane and other thin plastic material. Yikes! On an ending note we like the Wicked Laser Extreme Series Phoenix lasers and anyone with the money and desire should check these guys out. These lasers are wicked! Batteries
